Wenger Spoilt for Choice
The ongoing saga surrounding Gonzalo Higuain’s move to the Emirates has hit a stall – as the attacking options line up for Arsene Wenger.
Wenger is believed to be holding out on the apparent £23miilion move for Higuain as he believes the move to bring Liverpool’s Luis Suarez to North London could prove to be a better deal.
Still a Galactico
Higuian has been ordered to report back to Madrid for training today, as the Argentinian is still their player. With no deal officially through, Higuain’s £23million move depends on Wenger’s move for Uruguayan Suarez.
The initial bid of £30million for the Reds’ number 7 was snubbed, with Brendan Rodgers insisting Suarez is not for sale.
Yet Suarez’s consistent wanting for a move away from Anfield has done himself wonders in putting himself on the transfer market. Real Madrid remain hopeful after Suarez claimed he wanted to quit England altogether, due to relentless media intrusion, and moneybags AS Monaco remain interested.
Another bid of £35million has been rumoured heavily in today’s press, testing Liverpool’s resolve over their £40million valuation of the man who has 38 goals in Liverpool red.
Higuain on Hold
The Argentinian remains on hold depending on how high the final transfer fee of Suarez will be. Arsenal expert John Cross explained why the deal has taken so long:
“I thought Higuain would have been done by now, but I think there’s an opportunity with Suarez. I would suggest they might have had a bit of encouragement.” He detailed.
“I feel Wenger’s first choice would be Suarez rather than Higuain.”
Higuain scored 23 goals in La Liga last season, dwarfed by Suarez’s 23 in the toughest League of all – the Premier League.
Should Arsenal meet Liverpool’s £40million valuation of Luis Suarez, the Higuain deal would balance on whether or not Wenger would be willing to splash out £63+million on a new strikeforce. Plus with Theo Walcott scoring and Olivier Giroud hitting some form in the recent 7-0 friendly win over Indonesia XI, the Gunner’s attacking options could rival any team in the world.
This transfer window shows how far Arsenal have come, even being linked with players like Higuain, Suarez, Jovetic and Wayne Rooney is a reflection of how the club have progressed in the market season.
Wenger summed the speculation up perfectly:
"For years we were out of race for top-level transfers, but we're back now. That's what we're working on at the moment."

LFC has to sort this mess as soon as possible, so they have time to work on replacement. It is similar to Van Persie, AFC had to sell to highest bidder as it is the best for Arsenal.
Echo and The Guardian, both far more reliable than that rag.
You should be thankful to the writer for presenting you with the facts- not judging his sources.
Writers follow rumours and investigate the facts, to unravel the story for the readers.
In a perfect world, readers should follow the story and comment with constructive criticism.
For what we know, it can either be that no bid has been made for either player, as well as both of their deals being finalised and awaiting confirmation.
Until any of this is confirmed by Arsenal, you (the readers) choose what you want to believe as true.
what's your reliable source?
Have you really just used The Mirror to prove me wrong???? ROFLMAO
Next time, try and find a reliable source of information when trying to prove someone wrong, not a worthless rag.
Oh please, Suarez also was the focal point of LFC's offense and got WAY more chances that he failed to convert

This makes me think we will only bring in 1 top forward and not two as suggested, that's why Sanogo was bought..
I expect either Suarez OR Higuain but not both and possibly a top midfielder.
Ideal scenario woul be Cesc and Fellaini + Higuain (70 million)plus a cheap deal on Cesar. 2 million
We could then look at defenders in the Januaruy window if things are not going right!
So far, we are where we have been all those previous years. Without big transfers, we will struggle for the 4th place again.
