Arsenal start the premier league season with a defeat which meant the players were booed off again which sounds like a familiar story. Arsenal were excellent for the first 44minutes but a moment of magic changed the pattern of the game. Arsenal took the lead through a Walcott goal which came a minute after he missed a penalty. A sublime free kick levelled the match which was underserved but three excellent goals followed from Lallana, Coutinho and then Mane. Arsenal pulled one quickly back through Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chambers scored the third.

Cech – 6 – Cech played okay and was not at fault for any of the goals. He had no chance for the free kick.

Bellerin – 6 – Wasn’t at his usual attacking best but this may have been down to trying to help the inexperienced centre backs.

Holding – 6 – Thought Holding had a decent debut when you consider he has not played at this level before. Committed the foul which led to the free kick but it was a soft free kick awarded.

Chambers –6 – Scored the third goal and looked commanding in the first 20 minutes.

Monreal -6 – Went forward with good effect and couldn’t really do anything about the goals.

Elneny – 7 – Worked tirelessly in the first half and was essentially in keeping it tight with the two centre backs.

Coquelin – 7 – Had a very good game and won the tackle which allowed us to take the lead.

Walcott – 7- Missed a penalty but redeemed himself by getting the goal a minute afterwards.

Ramsey -6 – Was okay in the number ten role but went off injured again which looks like it may be his hamstring which is a worry.

Iwobi – 6 – Got an assist for the first goal but also went off injured.

Sanchez - 6 – Nothing to note throughout the game and is not a centre forward. Performance in that role can be summed up as woeful

Subs

Oxlade – Chamberlain – 7 – Made an instant impact once coming on a substitute.

Cazorla – 6 – Didn’t really do anything once he came on.

Xhaka -5 - Was not the greatest of debuts from the bench. Committed several fouls, booked and often gave the ball away cheaply. Hopefully improves as the season goes on.

The performance was okay and probably deserved more but the reality is Arsenal need to get organised and quickly. This may be in the way of transfers or utilising the resources they have.  However, the fans do need to get behind the boys instead of booing them off.

I'm sad to say this but Wenger is a liar and has become a liability to The Arsenal, he cannot adapt to modern day football or the transfer prices demanded. It's his fault we had to play 2 inexperienced defenders who have never played together, then he blames them! Classy! Also, are we the only team to gave had players at the Euros?. The master of bull*** and excuses has started the season on fire and it's gonna get worse, ffs we can't even sign a player without it turning into a bloody farce that fails, how many of you gooners out there would of liked to see Ashley Williams walk out in our shirt proud and honoured to play for us,?we are bolloxed till the three stooges leave and that ain't happening any time soon,

I had said this last year, no striker, focus on next match, top 4, Champions League and knock out on first round. The same cycle every year now 13th.

solution is to boycot their matches and make them loose money. Useless team with no regard for their fans, their masters.

I dont know how to describe my disappointment. I am not at all surprised by the result.

I can only conclude that he club does not have ambition beyond paying the shareholders the maximum dividend possible wile the team does not have the investment to compete in PL or CL beyond 4th place and QF.

As things stand, I think they will struggle to be in the top 6 this year.

AFC no longer have a big club mentality. If I had paid to go I too would have booed. I wish I had watched the olympics instead!

Agree totally with both comments. This club is going nowhere in terms of the big prizes until Kroenke, Gazidis and Wenger are no longer involved with the club. So the outlook is bleak for the foreseeable future.

Whats the point.
Fans can protest - boo and hold up posters but the board of directors are not bothered. Its all about money for them not what the pleb supporters want.
Stop attending, make them lose money, then watch and see how long they stick around for...
