A 94th minute penalty was enough to take all three points for Arsenal but that doesn’t tell the whole story. Arsenal went one nil down through a Cech own goal after a free kick from Tadic hit the bar. However, Koscielny levelled it up from a corner with an overhead kick. Arsenal then knocked on the door throughout the second half and maybe should have gone 2 -1 down but Cazorla scored the penalty to win it.

Cech – 7 – Was unfortunate with the own goal and pulled off a crucial safe to keep the score level.

Bellerin – 7 - Defended well and went forward to good effect.

Mustafi – 7 – Looked good defensively with some commanding tackles as well as reading the game well but looked uncomfortable on the ball and needs to be more assured in his passing.

Koscielny – 8 – Another commanding performance and scored the crucial equaliser with a great goal.

Monreal – 6 – Was unlucky with the foul which gave away the free kick as replays showed there was no contact but should have been penalised late on with a foul but got lucky which allowed Arsenal to win the penalty up the other end.

Cazorla – 8 – Was the key performer in the game as he dictated play and got the winning goal.

Coquelin –  6 – Played well for most parts but was out of position most times and looked sluggish at times.

Walcott – 6 – Worked hard for the team but gave countless fouls away.

Ӧzil – 5 – Wasn’t at it today and was awful for large parts. His passing wasn’t crisp and his first touch wasn’t there.  Missed Xhaka in the central areas.

Oxlade – Chamberlain – 5 – Another poor game from the Ox but the first half wasn’t great in general.

Perez – 6 – Didn’t have any service but did work hard and will have to adjust to English football.

Subs

Sanchez – 6 – Looked lively once he came on and look a threat both in terms of scoring and creating something.

Giroud – 6 – Nearly scored with a header and put in a crucial block near the end.

Iwobi - 6 – Didn’t really have any influence.

Overall, it was a poor performance but the three points are the most important. That’s back to back wins now and Arsenal will play Hull City next week.

the performance of the players does not tell the result. The problems observed are no finisher at the attacking area although they dominated the whole time.

This is just like last season really, can anyone really remember a great all round performance by us last season?if you can then it goes to show how few there was cos we were stop start all season, once again Walcott was wasting a shirt running around pretending to be a footballer but getting pushed off the ball or just generally showing that all he can do is run fast, well so can my dog,

The Ox deserves a better rating. He was causing all sorts of trouble to the opponent's defenders.

Well.... the two comments don't give any kudos to our team who actually did win the game! Give the new signings more than one performance in a new league in a new country, pleeeze! A lot of us are just sick and tired of all these moaning minnies!

Not sure I agree with GG1167'S criticism of Perez after one game. Other than that I pretty much agree with his/her comments. Wenger has not groomed anyone to take his place, and the other senior management figures at the club don't appear to have insisted that he do so. That's Malfeasance in my opinion. It means we'll have to look outside for Wenger's successor. There's really only one name that comes to mind and that's Diego Simeone, but will he be available or interested?

Watford aside, that's three poor performances from four games. There's a real lack of quality to our play and team. Mustafi is a good buy, but Perez? We need a world class striker who is going to bang in 25 PL goals - we just haven't got that quality. This season is going to be a real struggle to get in the top 6. I can't help but look at Liverpool and Man City and think how the hell isn't Klopp or Guardiola our manager. Answer? Poison. Arsene Wenger has poisoned our club with failure.
