The Premier League returns today which means me and the team will be back giving you your Arsenal news.  Football is back which means Arsenal is back. This article will focus on the season ahead looking at the emerging and star players but also what Arsenal may do in the last couple of weeks in the transfer market.

Potential Stars

With the first game approaching we take a look at who may be the potential stars of the season alongside Sanchez and Ӧzil.

Xhaka – Signed this summer for £34 million Xhaka may be a star this season. This is mainly due to his attributes and these have been missing from the Arsenal midfield for years. Xhaka has the potential to be a force in midfield with his no nonsense game of tackling but also with those desired leadership attributes.

Ramsey - This is a big year for Aaron Ramsey after an impressive Euro 2016. Ramsey has long said he wants to play central which means this season is massive with so much competition in midfield. If Ramsey can get goals back in to his game and focus on the basics then Arsenal may have found another star. His runs from deep will be crucial in creating space for the likes of Cazorla, Ӧzil and Sanchez.

Elneny – Elneny could be another key player in the side this year. Since making his debut he has impressed a lot of fans especially after being found for only £5 million. His work rate in the centre of the park could be key.

Emerging star

A player to keep an eye on this season is Alex Iwobi. After breaking into the side last year he impressed many fans including myself. It will be interesting to see how he develops throughout the season and may be the reason why Arsenal do not sign anyone in this position

Prediction

Prediction – 4th

Last season saw Arsenal finish second which many would agree was probably not deserved if we were being objective however, we did.  Unfortunately, even with the assumption we sign a defender such as Mustafi I cannot see us finishing any higher than third. However, I think we will finish fourth.

However, if the team stays injury free and signs Mustafi alongside a centre forward of good quality then Arsenal have every chance of a title challenge. A lot will depend on how they perform in the big games. One good thing may be that Arsenal are massive underdogs this season with many pundits tipping the two Manchester clubs as well as Chelsea to win the title which may help Arsenal as there will be less pressure unlike last season.

Transfers

Arsenal may sign a couple of players in the last couple of weeks which remain in this window. It is highly likely Arsenal will sign a centre back after the injuries we have suffered to Gabriel and Mertesacker. Mustafi is the centre back Arsenal are expected to sign however, the transfer fee may cause this to drag on as we all know Arsenal find this part of any deal hard.

Arsenal will also look to sign a centre forward but this is not a given. Lacazette form Lyon looks like he will be staying now as Lyon would like £60 million which Arsenal will not pay for a player of his ability. Therefore, I don’t know who Arsenal will sign is this area.

Message to the fans

As the season is about to kick off we must unite and get behind the boys. Let’s make the Emirates a fortress and see where the season takes us. We must believe in the players and let’s face it these players are good enough to go and win the league if they apply themselves correctly with the right mentality.
