Or at least, he likely has. The Polish goalkeeper is out for an unspecified amount of time with a cracked rib sustained against Norwich City.
Arsene Wenger says it requires 'clinical' work, suggesting while it isn't incredibly serious, it could become a problem if not treated correctly.
For Arsenal this almost comes as a blow. The much maligned shot-stopper had been in excellent form since he was called in to replace Wojciech Szceszny, making a number of crucial saves to contribute to Arsenal's run of four wins on the trot.
Why is he gone?
Despite being favoured over his compatriot, Fabianski hadn't played in goal since 2011 thanks to injury problems, and even before that was regarded as a weak link.
His contract expires this summer, and with links to goalkeepers popping up daily it looks like Arsenal are searching for a new challenger to Woj already.
Chances are he won't play again this season, especially if Szceszny comes back refreshed from his spell on the sidelines. The Norwich game could well have been his last game for Arsenal.
The story of Flappihandski
Signed in 2007 as a long-term replacement for Jens Lehmann, Lukasz didn't play much in his first two seasons, sticking mainly to League Cup games. During this time he was seen as a prospect-young for a goalkeeper, with his potential yet to be unlocked.
It wasn't until the 09/10 season that he saw regular game time, and it didn't help that one of his first high-profile games was the 2-1 defeat to Porto in which he gifted the Portuguese side both their goals through errors. This led to the beginning of his 'Flappihandski" persona, a bumbling goalkeeper useless at holding crosses.
This ignored his reflexes and impressive performances, but his confidence was affected and he continued to give away goals, generally from crosses and set pieces. It wasn't until 2010 that Fabianski gave some impressive performances, and began to establish himself as the number 1 keeper at Arsenal.
Unfortunately, he then suffered a back injury which kept him out until 2013, and as we all know Wojciech Szceszny has picked up the goalkeeping baton with relative ease.
Goodbye
If Lukasz has played his last game for Arsenal, try and remember him for his form this season, while full of confidence and aware of his own ability. The last act he made for the Gunners was a game-saving save against Norwich, followed by a euphoric celebration in the crowd.
Lovely.
