Following the signings of Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers, Arsenal have reluctantly decided to let right-back Carl Jenkinson spend next season on loan at West Ham United.

Playing for contention

Despite the departure of Bacary Sagna to Manchester City this summer, Arsène Wenger believed that Jenkinson was not ready to make the step up to the first-team, therefore decided to make two expensive acquisitions at fullback.

Costa Rican international star Joel Campbell is the subject of a loan enquiry from AC Milan, who are looking to add attacking quality to their depleted squad this season.

Not part of immediate plans

With the young forward yet to play for the Gunners, it is thought that he may be shipped out on loan, after Arsène Wenger admitted to the player that he is not part of the clubs immediate plans.

Reports have emerged today that Arsène Wenger is set to reward French compatriot Olivier Giroud with a brand new contract, extending the forwards stay at the club until at least 2018.

L’staying

Trusted French newspaper L’Equipe believe that Giroud’s current contract expires in 2016, but his much-improved form has sped up negotiations on a new deal with an undisclosed pay rise.

After months of speculation over the striker’s future, due to his behaviour off the field, it is thought that Wenger has persuaded the player to continue his progress in North London with the Gunners.

Arsenal’s chase for Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin seems to be coming to an end.  It is understood by London’s Evening Standard and many other media outlets that he is close to being re-united with Mauricio Pochettino.

This comes to as a blow to Arsenal as they are in the market for a defensive midfielder.

However, it seems like Arsenal are looking at other targets such as William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon and Sami Khedira.  The preferred target seems to be William Carvalho and it is understood that Arsenal have a £24 million offer on the table however, this has yet to be confirmed. Moreover, Sporting Lisbon are holding out for £34 million.

Today has brought the announcement of Calum Chambers signing for Arsenal.

Chambers seemed delighted with his move.

"I am so happy to be signing for Arsenal. They are a team I have much admired for their playing style, and a team who have been one of the top sides in Europe for many years. I'm looking forward to joining up with my new team-mates today and beginning preparation for the season ahead.
