After a seemingly endless transfer saga between Arsenal and Higuaín, he will in fact be suiting up at the Emirates this weekend, just not for the club we would have hoped.
It will be very interesting to see how fans react to both Wenger and Napoli new-boy Higuaín at the Emirates when the visitors face Arsenal on Saturday.
After having agreed a fee with Real Madrid, then Madrid increasing the fee at the last minute, then Wenger deciding Higuaín was not worth that price tag, then Napoli coming in for him, then Higuaín expressing his preference for Arsenal over Napoli, then still being snubbed by Wenger, we lost him.
Higuaín scored 28 goals and managed 10 assists last season with Argentina and Real Madrid, despite limited playing time due to Mourinho favoring Karim Benzema.
I’m sure we will be seeing an entirely new Higuaín, who will be relishing his new position as the main man up top, this weekend. He will undoubtedly be on a mission to prove a point to a certain manager who deemed him not worth the money.
Higuaín is a class act and the Gunners are certainly going to have their hands full with him on Saturday. Let’s just hope he doesn’t make Wenger regret missing out on him.
Or should we?
I know most Gooners do.
