Arsenal’s number one transfer target has for a while now been Liverpool’s Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, but after seeing a club record bid of £40,000,001 be rejected, it looks as though Liverpool may have to sell after Suarez has handed in a transfer request.

However, this does not necessarily mean good news for the Gunners.

Toxic Cheat

Luis Suarez is a player of immense talent. His game is riddled with violence, controversy and cheating, however. He is one of the games “bad guys”.

However, with all the talent comes a lot of baggage. Suarez is a ‘toxic cheat’, and for this reason Liverpool will be willing to offload the striker, to stop him from poisoning the clubs dressing room. So, if Arsenal managed to sign the forward, they would be getting genuine, proven quality, they would also run the risk of this toxic behaviour poisoning their own dressing room.

Not to Arsenal!

While Brendan Rodgers may have finally appeared to have given hope of the Uruguayan staying at the club, following his outburst last week, he seems determined not to let the striker join Arsenal.

Rodgers and the club owner, John Henry, appear resolute in refusing to allow the striker to join Arsenal. This is most likely down to the £40,000,001 bid Arsenal made, which Liverpool felt mocked them, however, there is also the other reason which is why would you want to sell your best player to a league rival?

The PFA have also weighed in on the matter, and have stated that Arsenal’s previous offer did not mean that Liverpool had to sell the striker. This only adds fuel to Liverpool’s argument.

Beware

Arsenal fans should beware, however, that even if we do somehow manage to clinch a deal for the striker, it will only be a matter of time before he turns against the club and starts to pursue a move to Real Madrid or any other top club.
