Chelsea and Arsenal are said to be in advanced talks over a loan deal for striker Demba Ba.

The Chelsea man has struggled to make the first team this year, having to battle with Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukaku for a first team spot.

Now with the introduction of Samuel Eto’o into the Chelsea team, Ba looks certain to be left on the bench week after week, hence why Arsenal are looking to save the Senegal poacher.

According to reports, Ba has received offers from Napoli, Valencia and Roma to sign him, as well as former sides Newcastle and West Ham looking to regain his services.

The only stumbling block would be the loan fee that Chelsea are demanding, with Arsenal tabling half of the £3million price tag put on the attacker by Jose Mourinho’s side.

He would join Mesut Ozil as a the deadline day swoops as Arsene Wenger treats he fans to a spending spree on the last day of an uneventful window. Ba was prolific in his time at Newcastle and West Ham scoring 42 times in his tenure in England.

Since just 6 of those goals have come for Chelsea, and having played just once under Mourinho this season, a loan deal would be best for both parties as the Blues look to get the best out of Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukkaku with Eto’o joining as cover.

The deal would be fantastic for Arsenal, with Lukas Podolski out for 3 months with a hamstring injury and Olivier Giroud the sole striker alongside U20 international Yaya Sanogo.

Ba would surely rekindle his old form at the Emirates, with the service of Wilshere, Cazorla, Walcott and Ozil surely enough to get any strike scoring.
