Numerous Arsenal players have piled praise on deadline day signing Mesut Ozil.

The players themselves had pleaded with Wenger to spend the well publicised budget made available by the Arsenal Board this summer, which went untouched throughout the majority of the window.

However after the Frenchman pulled off the sensational last minute swipe for the German, the men who will be sharing the Emirates pitch with Ozil this season have spoken of their excitement to have the 24-year-old on board.

Theo’s delight

Winger Theo Walcott was the first to share his admiration of Ozil while on International duty with England:

"I played against him for the Under-21s when we lost 4-0 and he showed his qualities then and he has shown them for many years for club and country," Walcott said.

"He is a great addition and I am personally looking forward to playing with him. I think it definitely shows a statement that we are ready to step up and Ozil is going to be fantastic for me personally.

"With the amount of the assists he has got, it's a dream for me to see, so I am very excited to see him in the flesh and play with him. I am sure all the Arsenal fans will be looking forward to the Sunderland game."

Rosicky relishing

Next up was Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky to provide the plaudits. He praised the depth in the Gunners midfield with the addition of the Real Madrid man:

“Ozil will make Arsenal even stronger. I am looking forward to working with him. Good players always meet.”

“Competition in the side is huge. Ramsey, Cazorla, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Chamberlain and now Ozil. From this we can only benefit.”

Galactico Ozil

French defender Bacary Sagna was the last man to express his delight at the £43million coup. Sagna spoke of his hope that the midfielder can replicate the form that he showed while playing in the Bernabeu, the form that has seen a player rebellion in Madrid due to his sale:

“Seeing Ozil sign, he’s good, he is a quality player, he showed with Real Madrid and I hope that he will do with us.”

Wilshere: Ozil is signing of the summer

Wilshere tweeted:

“Signing of the summer! Easily! Fantastic player, plays the ‘Arsenal way’. Welcome @MesutOzil1088 absolutely buzzing!”

The players at Arsenal seem to be just as excited to see Ozil travel to the Emirates as the fans are, which we can only hope will be made productive on the pitch.
