Arsenal fans have received some good news before the imminent 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to be played this coming week and the next.
The normal procedure when it comes to international fixtures is for Gunners stars to travel half way across the globe and then return either jet lagged and fatigued or injured.
Tomas skips internationals
One player will fortunately not being doing this as Tomas Rosicky has been allowed to miss his country Czech Republic’s qualifiers.
The Interm Czech coach Josef Pesice said today: “Arsenal have asked us to excuse Rosicky for health reasons.
“Tomas wasn’t completely fit after the (West Brom Albion) game.
“Arsene Wenger got in touch with me and we agreed not to take Tomas to the qualifiers.”
He wasn’t injured yesterday…
Rosicky came on and impressed in yesterday’s 1-1 draw at the Hawthorn’s, even assisting Jack Wilshere’s equalising goal and didn’t appear to be injured.
The 33-year-old is most likely missing this game just to ensure that the injury he has just returned from isn’t exasperated.
Last time he sustained an injury, limping off against Italy in a qualifier that all but ended their chances of qualifying for Brazil.
Prepare for Canaries visit
If the Czech Republic had a chance of qualifying then I suspect Rosicky would be forced to play.
Fortunately he isn’t and he can enjoy training alongside the likes of Mathieu Flamini and Kieran Gibbs.
The midfielder has been injury-prone and hopefully this rest will allow him to be fully fit and raring to go for our next game against Norwich on October 19th.
