Great British Olympic legend Linford Christie is rumoured to have accidentally given fans a glimpse of next year’s Gunners strip after he posted a picture of himself with Thierry Henry wearing the Puma-clad shirt.
The Gunners have worn Nike strips since 1994, however agreed to the most lucrative deal in British sponsorship history with kit makers Puma. The five-year contract will see Arsene Wenger's side wear Puma strips next season in a deal worth a massive £30million per year.
Christie, who won gold at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona competing in the 100m sprint, uploaded the image of himself posing with legendary Gunners striker Thierry Henry, as well as current frontman Olivier Giroud and injured fullback Bacary Sagna.
Henry, at the centre of the image, wears a new-looking red Arsenal shirt, with a distinguishable Puma logo on the right of his chest. Giroud is also sporting a new Puma-branded tracksuit while Sagna played it safe with a red crested hoodie.
Christie, @ChristieLinford on Twitter, quickly removed the photo but was unable to stop the image going viral and appearing on news sites such as The Metro, The Telegraph and the Daily Mail.
The kit makers appear to have ditched the current red, white and blue hooped sleeves however the kit seems as traditional as expected.
But one thing is for sure - Thierry Henry always looks good in Arsenal colours.
