Many of the Arsenal team will go into the game against Norwich this weekend on a high after successful performances for their countries over the last week.

Whilst we all hope the Gunners will be chomping at the bit to put the red shirt back on, Mr Wenger will almost certainly have one eye on the big match against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League mid-week.

Our Opponents

The stats seem to back up the belief of most Arsenal fans who deep down know that tomorrow’s game should be an easy win.

Since their infamous 4-2 victory over 20 years ago at Highbury, the Canaries have failed to win a single away game against Arsenal.  This stat doesn’t seem likely to change on Saturday as Norwich come to the league leaders whilst languishing in the relegation zone.

However, as the old cliché says ‘matches aren’t won on paper’.  With Ricky Van Wolfswinkel having a blistering start to his career in the Premier League there can be no doubt that Norwich have talent amongst their ranks.

Team News

Mr Wenger has confirmed that Ozil, Cazorla, Rosicky and Sagna could potentially play a role against Norwich, although this by no means tells us that they will.

With the game in the week being so important for our prospects in Europe, Arseblog for one have eluded that Jenkinson might continue at right back.

For me, the game against Norwich seems the perfect opportunity for both Rosicky and Gnabry to stretch their legs.

Due to the almost sickening amount of ability in our midfield ranks, neither are likely to start as many games as their ability demands and it is games like this we must utilise the fact that we have squad players who would be playing week in week out for other teams.

In addition to this, Theo Walcott is still not fit, given even more strength to the notion that Gnabry could get some playing time.

Predictions and thoughts

As I have mentioned before, our success this season is going to depend heavily on momentum.  In recent years we have had limited opportunities to lead from the front and the players cannot afford to take the foot off the gas.

A comfortable win against teams at the lower end of the league is a necessity if Arsenal are to even make the Champions League next season.

Confirmed line-up

Szczesny; Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Flamini, Arteta; Ozil, Wilshere, Cazorla;Giroud
