Arsenal’s very own Serge Gnabry could be one of the many international players representing the club at the 2014 World Cup after it emerged that Germany coach Joachim Low will be keeping an eye on him with a view to including him in his World Cup squad.

Gnabry, just 18-years-old, has always been talked about as a player with huge potential and has taken his chance with the Gunners first team as Arsene Wenger’s contends with several injury problems.

The winger has only appeared for the German under-19 side but could earn himself a World Cup spot should he continue progressing throughout the season.

Low said to the Humburger Morgenpost about Gnabry:

“The boy is really good, he has exceptional qualities.

“I’m still open [to him being selected]. We have an eye on him.”

It is fantastic that Low would say such a thing about our youngster and this is sure to only boost his confidence.

It also poses a question to Lukas Podolski who hasn’t been involved with his national team due to injury and could his World Cup spot be taken by the youngster in addition to his club shirt.

However it won’t be an easy ride for Gnabry if he is to obtain a ticket to Brazil. The German’s aren’t short of midfield options as last night’s game against England showed.

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller didn’t even play whilst Marco Reus and Mario Gotze showed they are exceptional players.

If Gnabry is selected for the Germany squad in March then he will have a great chance of appearing at Brazil. It would be a great experience for the youngster and would only improve his development to become an Emirates legend.
