Theo Walcott was stretchered off in the 2-0 win against Spurs in the FA cup on Saturday and was all set for a scan on Monday morning with rumours that he would be out for 4 weeks.
Arsenal Football Club released an update this evening on Walcott’s injury:
“After coming off injured in Saturday's 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the Club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.”
Even worse news
This is even worse than anyone could of expected, no one anticipated Theo being out for a massive 6 months, meaning that he shall miss the rest of Arsenal’s title challenge in the 13/14 season and will also miss England’s trip to Brazil for the world cup.
Return of the Ox
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to return to full training this week after 5 months out with an injury of his own; this will come as a comfort to Wenger as this is a massive blow for his Arsenal squad.
However this does not mean that we should depend solely on the Ox, it would be wise to spend this transfer window as we have lost a huge player that could have done wonders to produce us with the Premier League title this season.
