Álvaro Morata could move to the Emirates on loan in January after Real Madrid changed their stance over the young forward and are now willing to allow him to leave Spain.
This is according to reports in various English and Spanish newspapers today. The Daily Mail believe it will take a fee of £1.7 million to secure the 21-year-old on a loan deal.
The Evening Standard reported that Morata was the top of Arsenal’s list of priorities after Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott suffered injuries and they insist Carlo Ancelotti will allow him to move.
Morata himself has reaffirmed his commitment to Real as he told Minuto 116.
“Real Madrid have been my team since I was little and will be all my life,” added the forward.
“I think the important thing is to have a relevant role in the team. If I ever feel that’s not the case, I would look at other options. In football, it’s very difficult to stay at the top and even more so in a team like Real.
“Moving up to the first team is tricky, not everyone deals with it well. If you learn how to handle it, you realise the value of every minute.
“Maybe in five or ten minutes you have to go on and be decisive in a game. In football every minute is golden.”
If this loan deal goes through as expected then Arsenal fans will hope Morata provides some golden moments for the gunners.
