Over his last 7 years at the club Bacary Sagna has become an extremely regular and important figure at the club. Despite him not performing how he should last season, this season he has been absolutely superb and irreplaceable in the back 4.

France Football today reported that Wenger is confident Sagna will extend his stay at the Emirates. They also added that the contract would be a 3 year extension worth 5 million Euros per season.

Sagna is very positive towards his current squad by saying:

“Teams are scared about us because they know we can make their life difficult on the pitch. We want everyone to be talking about us at the end of the season, saying we were the best team and deserved to win the title.”

Massive boost

After his performances this season it would be an extremely unpopular opinion to not want Sagna to extend his contract. Many times throughout the season Sagna and the rest of Arsenal’s defence have kept hold of many vital points and it would be an extremely good move for Sagna to stay.

The 3 year contract extension would take Sagna up to 10 years at Arsenal and would give him a testimonial to remember.
