Arsenal announced on Monday that 20-year old Nico Yennaris had left the club to join up with League One promotion chasing side Brentford.
Yennaris, who is capable of playing in either defence or midfield, came through the Arsenal academy, having joined the club at the age of 7, and progressed right the way through the youth set-up, eventually making his debut for the first team in the League Cup win over Bolton in 2011. However, the youngster only made a further three appearances for the Gunners since his debut.
Having not represented Arsenal at all this season, lifelong Gunners fan Yennaris decided to move to League One table toppers Brentford in a search for first-team action.
Brentford boss, Mark Warburton said upon finalising the deal:
“He is a very talented player, technically good and physically sound. He has a real tactical astuteness for a young player.”
“He is a talented young player and I am sure he will have a bright future at Brentford Football Club. We are delighted to secure him permanently.”
Yennaris is expected to go straight into Brentford’s squad for Tuesday night’s game against Bristol City.
We wish him good luck for the future!
