Arsenal have made a signing in the January transfer window just unfortunately it is off the pitch and not on it as Swiss watchmaker JEANRICHARD became a global partner of the club today.
The watchmaker signs up just before the January transfer window clock ticks away to 11pm on Friday night.
JEANRICHARD moves to the Emirates
JEANRICHARD have signed a long-term partnership, which will now have a significant presence on matchdays at the Emirates. The watchmaker will also unveil a limited edition “Arsenal” watch in the near future.
Chief executive of JEANRICHARD’s Bruno Grande said: “A strong heritage combined with young team spirit and style: Arsenal and JEANRICHARD share the same philosophy of Life.
“Both are considered forward thinkers in their fields and ‘passing on the ball’ through development of young talent is our common approach. People at Arsenal and JEANRICHARD are out to make the most of every moment and strive to accomplish extraordinary things day in and day out with passion and respect.”
Core values the same
Arsenal’s Sales and Marketing Director Vinai Venkatesham also added: “This is another important step as we build our partnerships portfolio and underlines the momentum we have on our commercial agenda.
“JEANRICHARD share many of our core values and we are delighted to welcome them to the Arsenal family.”
JEANRICHARD is certainly not Julian Draxler but alongside the confirmation that Puma will be our kit supplier from July 2014 these are big commercial boosts.
Big commercial boosts
The Puma deal in particular should earn us an estimated £150 million over five years and the partnership with the watchmaker will help us boost long-term links with major businesses in addition to boosting the attire of the Gunners players.
As our Sales and Marketing Director also said, it will help boost our portfolio for future partnerships which will in turn bring more money into the club and hopefully allow us to spend more money in the transfer window.
Hopefully we can announce another signing though in this transfer window and on the pitch this time as well.
