After his summer move to newly promoted Crystal Palace from Arsenal Marouane Chamakh has found himself a regular starting spot in their first 11.
After scoring 5 goals this season the 30 year old is relishing his return to the Emirates this Sunday.
Excited for return
It seems the Moroccan is truly looking forward to returning to his former club’s ground.
He said:
“I’m very happy to be going back and playing at the Emirates again. I’m looking forward to seeing the players, the manager and the fans. I have some very good memories from playing at Arsenal.”
“I learnt a lot there on my initial arrival in England. I learned a lot about discipline, learning and understanding the English game and getting used to how to move and pass on the pitch as an attacker in this league. I’ve continued to learn a lot more since coming to Palace.”
Are we threatened?
In recent times we seem to concede against ex Arsenal strikers, with the likes of Robin Van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor getting on the score sheet at the Emirates for their current clubs.
Although Chamakh isn’t seen to be as threatening as the likes of RVP and Adebayor anything can happen in football and who knows, he may prove to be somewhat of a nuisance against his old club.
