Yesterday, saw the return of the Premier League and an Arsenal win however, there were a few injury concerns.
Nacho Monreal got replaced at half time which Arsene Wenger says was a kick to the ankle. Monreal was replaced by Carl Jenkinson which meant Bacary Sagna went to left back.
However, on the 67th minute Laurent Koscienly had to go off with a back problem which meant another re-shuffle at the back with Sagna going to centre back.
Wenger was quick to point out that the defensive pair should be back for next week’s game at Stoke City.
Mesut Ӧzil should also return after missing out with a dead leg due to a kick in midweek. The other notable injury of the match was to Jack Wilshere who was complaining of a tight hamstring.
Wenger did not shed much light but sounded hopeful by saying “He had a tight hamstring, I don’t know if it is bad or not. They tell me it is not too bad.”
Although all of these injuries are just knocks, one man who will be missing a minimum of three weeks is Kieran Gibbs who has a hamstring problem.
