After Saturday's 4-1 demolition of Sunderland, it seems Jack Wilshere has been reflective of the team's performance over the weekend and last Wednesday against Bayern.
"Against Bayern, we were on top for the first 20 minutes and had a great chance to score but didn’t, so we wanted to continue that [against Sunderland], stay high and win the ball back.
Once we won the ball back in their half, we always looked dangerous."
Improvement needed
He was also quick to state that the Gunners need to improve and that he wishes to see the team pressing high up the pitch like Barcelona and Real Madrid:
“You see the best teams in the world like Barcelona and Bayern Munich do that and we have to try to do that as well, because when we get in their half we have the players to hurt them.”
Defending the £42.5 million man
After Michael Ballack's comments about Özil not fitting into the team and not being accepted by the other players, the England star was soon to jump to the German's defence stating the exact opposite.
"Mesut is fine, he is a great character," Wilshere said. "He is friends with everyone around the place.
"He has got a dead leg which is not nice, but he was in the dressing room helping the boys, talking to everyone, telling me and the other boys where to go (in midfield)."
