Bacary Sagna is said to be heading into his final contract negotiations with Arsenal. He has been a stand out player in recent years for the club with a great attacking peril as well as outstanding defensive performances.

The Club is believed to have offered the player a two-year contract extension with more-or-less the same wages, however the player is looking to finish his career on a high and wants a three-year deal with an increase in wages to around £90,000-a-week.

With the player coming to the end of his current contract, Arsenal have to consider either increasing his current wages or investing money into a new right-back and be open to losing out on him and giving him away for free.

Interest has been shown from various clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Inter Milan and Galatasaray, who are willing to give the player what he wants in order to get his signature.

Although Arsenal and Sagna have struggled to come to terms on his contract negotiations, Sagna has been very happy at Arsenal, being quoted:

“I love Arsenal, I love playing for Arsenal, I love my team. Arsenal is the most followed team in France and I remember I used to watch them when I was in France so it was a pleasure to play for them, so why leave?"

“It's great here. It was like a dream when I joined the club because I used to follow Arsenal when I was in France and then I had the opportunity to join them and it's a pleasure to play for the team.”

it is no doubt that the 31-year old loves his club and plays with all his heart, but is the 31-year old still a player Arsene Wenger favours? Although Sagna starts every game and is a first choice, the player does not fit into that so called "young" category which Wenger once used to favour.

With the player in the spot light about his future at the club, could he be on his way like another rival Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United who is believed to have agreed a contract with Inter Milan or will he sign a new contract and stay at the club.
