After Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky signed new deals for Arsenal today there was more good news on that front.

This news concerns our welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey who is about to sign a new 5 year deal according to the Telegraph. It is expected to be confirmed at a later date and there is speculation it will be for 100k a week.

This will put him on par with the likes of Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott and behind Mesut Ӧzil.

Surprise

This may come as a surprise as Aaron Ramsey only signed a new deal last year as part of the English core but is fully deserved after the season he is having.

I also like that he is committing to Arsenal as there has been reported interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

This is great work by Arsenal by making sure they tie their key players down to long term contracts unlike what has happened before. Furthermore, it is now evident Arsenal are moving into a new financial state as players are now getting bigger wages. Santi Cazorla is also expected to sign a new deal in the future weeks.
