Surely we've gone too far over the past 8 years to see our team crumble in the manner it did against Chelsea. Wenger's 1000th marked off in a disgraceful manner.
Probably worse than losing to Bradford. No. Nothing is worse than losing to Bradford. Anyways, potentially Wenger's last or before last season as Arsenal manager, could we really end such a legacy on such a low?
Over the past two years, we've showed remarkable spirit to finish in the top four, even when it's seemed impossible. We've overcome massive setbacks. But does Arsene and his players have it in them to pick themselves up, after such a humiliating result come Swansea?
After our two other embarrassing defeats (yes this has happened before) earlier on this season, against both City and Liverpool away, it's taken us 2-3 games to finally get over the scars. On Tuesday, we face a Swansea side who have been very much below average this year. Swansea are 4 points of the relegation zone, meaning they'll be more then motivated at the Emirates.
What terrifies me most about Tuesday is that we can't afford anything but a win. Dare I think that if we draw or lose against Swansea, considering our next game is City, we’ll be lucky to finish in the top four.
It's a crucial game. If the likes of Cazorla, Arteta, Gibbs, Giroud etc display a similar attitude to the one they showed on Saturday, we’ll be extremely lucky to get a result.
All we can do as fans is support the team. Taking into consideration Wilshere, Walcott, Ozil and Ramsey, four of our definite starters are all injured. A top 3 finish this year, with of course silverware, would be progression.
