Last night was surely the end of Arsenal title hopes, as they walked off to a round of boo’s that were fully deserved.

It was heart-breaking when the ball bounced off Flamini for an own goal and left everyone is the ground in disbelief. As the ball slowly went in all I could feel was that it has happened again, Arsenal had fallen away again.

Wenger’s failure to buy in January may cost us as a thin squad missing their 2 key players in Walcott and Ramsey and Wenger didn’t want to open up the kitty.

Now we are struggling to pick up points looking tired and looking like we will be battling for 4th. I hope I’m wrong but it is a stark contrast from the first 5 months.

Motivation

The thing that really upset me about last night’s performance is the lack of motivation and fight. If that is the performance you get after losing 6-0, I repeat 6-0 then it is a poor state of affairs.

The players look like they were in a training session and this was summed up when Giroud could even be bothered to make a run to the near post.

Everyone knows me as being pro Wenger but if you can’t motivate the players then maybe it is time for a change. I still believe Wenger is the right man for the job but something needs to change.

Arsenal fans every year say that they would take 5th and a trophy because this is what football is about.   However, at this moment in time I don’t thing I am entirely comfortable with that. If we dropped out of the champions league then we will find out how big 4th place is.

Hopefully, Arsenal will end there trophy drought with lifting the FA Cup but do we really want that to be at the expense of fourth. I fully believe they will regroup and finish 4th but it could all go wrong.

On a positive note Kallstrom looks to be a good loan signing in the 10 minutes we got to see of him. He looked quick across the ground and showed a good range of passing especially with the diagonal ball which was played to Giroud. However, he can’t answer all of Arsenal’s problems.

If Wenger wins the FA cup and finishes 4th then he stays on for 2 more years, if he fails to win the cup and finishes 5th then he position becomes untenable.  Let’s hope we get fourth and win the FA Cup which will show progress.
