"Change is never easy, but it's always possible." (Barack Obama)
This is the true reality of what is facing Arsenal and a feeling that is starting to grow.
Today’s performance has summed up the past month for Arsenal. No fight and no determination but now could face the consequences of not making them key moves in January.
Losing 3-0 to Everton really showed that Arsenal are lacking, momentum is key in any charge and Everton have got this and with a game in hand and one point behind you can see them overtaking Arsenal.
I could sense off Twitter that Arsenal’s fan base is 50/50 with all the Wenger optimists starting to realise that Wenger is becoming hard to defend and this was summed up by FK from the Bergkamp Wonderland Podcast “ Performances like that make it increasingly harder to defend Arsène. Must win FA Cup to continue as boss, or it's over. Fanbase too split.”
I myself is one of Wenger’s biggest fans but sometimes change is necessary to stop you becoming stale and this is what might need to happen.
At this moment in time it doesn’t look like Wenger is willing to change so the only other solution which is possible is to change the manager, however, at this rate Wenger may make the decision himself.
The way I look at it is if Wenger hasn’t shown his commitment yet then how can he motivate the players when they don’t know if he is staying and this was summed up by Arteta before the game “I don’t know what the idea is. I think the boss has been here long enough to know when the right moment is to make that decision and the board too.” Although, he does go onto say that it won’t affect their performances.
Wembley has now become a massive pressurised game which Arsenal have to win, if not it could be the end of Wenger’s reign which would be a great loss.
