The long awaited news on Arsene Wenger's future at the club has come out that he is to stay.
Wenger was asked by beIN Sports about his future at the club and whether he is to stay or leave. In his response, Wenger made it clear that he wants to stay and keep his word to the club.
The interviewer from beIN Sports asked:
“Will you stay or will you go at the end of the season?"
The Arsenal manager replied:
"Look, I've said that many times already, I've given my word to this club and I want to continue where I am... That means to stay."
Although Wenger makes it clear that his intensions are to stay and sign a new contract extension with the club, the matter is that he has not signed it yet.
Wenger has been offered the contract earlier in the season but with no news about the actual signing of it coming out, leaves many to believe that his future is not yet determined.
One would believe that the manger would like to assess his performance this season and sign the contract if he believes he deserves it or not.
Arsenal are in the final of the FA Cup and are currently in a battle for 4th place. Wenger has never failed to make a top 4 finish but with the last trophy coming in 2005, one would believe that failure to make top 4 would see the manger on his way out.
