With Everton's latest result ending in defeat, Arsenal have the chance to go 4 points clear in the race for 4th spot. The Gunners face a poor Newcastle side of late, but as this game has proven to be open and a close affair, Arsene Wenger will take nothing for granted.

Wenger said:

"You know that Newcastle have quality, so of course we have to prepare like we will face a Premier League battle.

"The exciting thing in the Premier League is that everybody fights for every game and we have to prepare for that.

"We have come back [with] a better display in our offensive quality which brings confidence, so that is what we want to build on now."

Expected line-up

The latest team news is that everyone that was involved at Hull are available with the boost of ThomasĀ  Vermaelen returning to the squad.

The starting line-up should be the same as last weekend unless Arsene Wenger decides to field club captain on the left-back position instead of Nacho Monreal.

Predicted XI:

Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski, Giroud.

With the poor performances of late from Newcastle, Arsenal are seen as favourites to win the game. Arsenal are unbeaten against Newcastle in the last six games and have lost only one of the last 16 meetings. While for Newcastle, one win in their last six away from home and losing their previous 5 games home and away, not much is expected from them.

With first team players returning for Arsenal and in-form players such as Podolski and Ramsey in the squad, Arsenal should win the game in the region of 3-1, if not 3-0.
