Reports are coming out that Arsenal are to send scouts out to monitor Morgan Schneiderlin.

With Arteta nearing his expiry date, Arsenal are to make a move for a midfielder to replace the Spaniard. As Arsenal have been a club to favour French players, Arsenal are understood to send scouts to Southampton’s final match against Manchester United to monitor Morgan Schneiderlin.

Arsenal are understood to rate the Southampton midfielder highly and ever since joining the club in 2008, the player has been an ever present player in the first team. It is understood that the player is not ruling out any move as he has always dreamed of playing at a big club.

Earlier this year Schneiderlin said:

‘It is my dream to one day play at a great club.

Arsenal? I have a three year contract, so it will not be easy. It’s my dream to one day play at a great club though – so why not?’

The midfielder has been valued around £15million, but as Southampton have been tough negotiators in the past, Arsenal are going to have to work hard to land the player.
