Interests surrounding Karim Benzema are mounting as the Real Madrid striker only has one year remaining on his contract.
News coming out, is that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger will assess the situation and wait until after the Champions League Final before putting forward any offer. Arsenal have been interested in Karim Benzema before, and with strengthening needed upfront for Arsenal, Benzema may just be the right solution.
With the striker nearing the end of his contract at Real Madrid (one year remaining), the 26-year-old will have to decide on his future. Either the player will commit to a new long term deal which could most likely to see him finish his career at the club, or Benzema will be looking to move on with new challenges lying ahead.
With Real Madrid looking to bid for Luis Suarez, selling Benzema may just be an option in order to gather funds in order to land the prolific Suarez. However, if Arsenal were looking to sign the player, a fee in the region of £30million would be expected. Any deal though would depend on the business Real Madrid are able to conduct.
After signing Ozil, Benzema can only add value to the team, as the chemistry between the players will certainly not be lost. The Former teammates may just be the last piece of the puzzle for Arsenal to push forward in winning silverware.
Although Benzema is an option, Wenger will certainly not close the door on any other options. Arsenal have been linked with Mario Mandzukic, Diego Costa and Josip Drmic thus far.
In my opinion Benzema would be the better option as he would add more value and a different dimension to the game that Arsenal already have with Giroud up front. With Ozil being a former teammate, the two would also have a better chemistry and would be able to adapt to each other's playing style lot quicker to that of Ozil and Giroud.
