Arsenal go into their first FA Cup final in nine years with an almost fully fit squad, Theo Walcott the only player officially declared out of the running for the Wembley showpiece.

It is well known that the Gunners have gone nine years without a trophy, coincidently their most recent coming in this competition in 2005, after defeating Manchester United via a penalty shoot-out.

Crowning Glory

Arsène Wenger is quietly confident of an Arsenal triumph and is adamant that his side will do their talking on the pitch, not underestimating Hull City before the clash.

"I honestly don’t feel that there is any danger of complacency. We know the difficulty of the task.”

"It is an opportunity for us to crown our season and the overall achievement, if you look back on the season, will look better when we win it."

Expected line-up

Lukasz Fabianski has been Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper for domestic cups, while Sanogo’s many appearances in the competition may not be enough, as Wenger is expected to opt for the in-form Olivier Giroud.

Captain Thomas Vermaelen is a minor doubt, alongside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, both players contributing their respective efforts on the road to the final.

Regardless of whether the two players are fit for the squad, this is the expected line-up for Arsenal’s third final in seven years.

Fabianski – Sagna – Mertesacker – Koscielny – Gibbs – Arteta – Ramsey – Cazorla – Ozil – Podolski – Giroud

Playing with dominoes

With Arsenal spending big money in the summer of 2013, the season was expected to be one of great change and big achievements.

The players have been speaking ahead of the game on the importance of crowning their season with the FA Cup, claiming that it will act as a domino affect for further things to come from the side.

Vice-captain Mikel Arteta proclaimed this week that, with the history we have in the last eight or nine years without any trophies at all obviously it can be a great turning point.”

“I think when you get to that line and you win, it creates a lot of confidence and builds something special. It will be something special between the players, the fans, the staff.”

10 going on 11

For every Arsenal fan, the Wembley clash against Hull gives the club a chance for redemption.

Years have passed with brash errors and mishaps that have caused the team to be ridiculed by the media and opposition fans. However, that can all change after 90 minutes (or 120 minutes) (or a penalty shootout) on Saturday afternoon.

While it is important not to become complacent, the Gunners are strong favourites for this clash and must capitalise on the positivity and confidence that is in their corner ahead of the match.

Arsenal have won 10 FA Cups in their illustrious history. They will be hoping to make it 11 come tomorrow night.
