Giroud has confirmed that he is in talks with Arsenal about extended his deal at the club. Giroud told this to French media Midi Libre which has now been translated by ESPN.
“I have two years left on my contract, but we’re in talks to extend it. For the moment, I’m good here. There are some good things to be done.”
“I feel at ease in this league. My first season wasn’t too bad, the second was rather good. I hope to do better still. I progress year-on-year, just like the team, which produces great play.”
This news has been greeted in different ways by the Arsenal fans with one fan saying this now means Arsenal won’t sign a world class striker. This wouldn’t be a huge surprise especially as Wenger is very loyal to his players.
I hope that Wenger still signs a world class striker and I think he will as he wants to win the league and knows the short comings of last year. In my opinion this is good news for Arsenal as Giroud did improve last season from his first and hopefully will improve again. It is a welcomed boost that Arsenal are getting players contracts tied down unlike the past.
