Arsène Wenger and Arsenal could be given a helping hand in their pursuit for a top class forward by sponsors Puma - that is according to Sky Sport Italia.

They believe Puma, who Arsenal announced as a sponsor in January, could fund a move for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.

Puma ready to help Balotelli bid

According to the report, Puma would like Balotelli in the Premier League and Sky Sport Italia pundit Mario Giunta is quoted by Eurosport as writing: “Arsenal are very interested in Balotelli.

“Arsène Wenger would do anything to bring him to London. This operation could be pushed forward by the technical sponsor, who Balotelli shares with Arsenal.

“To have Balotelli in the Premier League for Arsenal would be an important investment.”

This follows on from us at Arsenal Latest reporting on Tuesday that Wenger was interested in brining Balotelli to the Emirates because he feels he can tame the enigmatic Italian and turn him into a consistent world class performer.

Wenger’s scouting mission

Meanwhile, the Arsenal manager will be in Brazil for the World Cup possibly casting his eye over potential new players according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Telegraph reported that Wenger will use his time in Brazil to scout the likes of Balotelli among other players alongside his commentary job.

French channel TF1 have confirmed that the Gunners boss will be commentating for them during the World Cup and he’ll now get the opportunity to watch his targets live.

Telegraph believe Arsenal aren’t just targeting Balotelli but also two other high profile forwards at big European clubs.

Balotelli or someone else…

Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema has been linked with a switch to the Emirates and with the 26-year-old leading the line for France, Wenger will get plenty of time to scout the striker.

Another player muted with an Arsenal transfer is Bayern Munich’s Mario Mandžukić and though all three players listed are well known, it still seems Wenger wants to see them personally before making a decision over who to sign.

If Puma are willing to help a move for Balotelli would he be the best option?
