Mario Balotelli has been linked with a move to Arsenal over the past few weeks but it seems the Italian would rather a switch to our London rivals Chelsea.
The Daily Star Sunday believe the 23-year-old would like a reunion with former boss José Mourinho, the pair were together at Inter Milan and did clash at times.
However, if anybody is able to get the best out of Balotelli then the Portuguese boss could be the man to achieve that and it is common knowledge he is trying to improve the Blues strikeforce at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2014/15 season.
“Wenger not interested in Balo”
This news comes off the back of suggestions that Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger is not interested in signing the AC Milan forward either.
Wenger labeled speculation linking the Gunners with Balotelli as ‘pure invention’ when speaking to beIN Sports World Cup show.
As the Metro note, the Arsenal boss never normally reveals which players he is after but there are strong suggestions from those inside the club that Wenger isn’t interested in Balotelli because his personality wouldn’t be right.
The Italian courts controversy wherever he goes and with a settled dressing room, Wenger is cautious against damaging the balance by adding a character as temperamental as the youngster.
Italian could still stay in Milan
To pour further cold water on Balotelli moving to the Emirates, talkSPORT’s Italian football expert Paddy Agnew believes the striker may remain with his current club.
Agnew told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show that it wouldn’t be logical for the San Siro club to allow Balotelli to leave.
He said: “I don’t think they’re going to let him go. It wouldn’t make any sense.”
The future of Balotelli still remains a mystery but what does now appear clear is that Arsenal are taking themselves further and further away from the race to sign the 23-year-old.
