Arsenal search for a new hitman has been well documented since the end of the Premier League season and the Gunners have been linked with a number of World Cup forwards.

One World Cup forward, who will likely face Brazil on Friday, is open to a move to the Emirates if reports are to be believed.

Martínez would say yes!

Porto striker Jackson Martínez is the man in question with the Daily Express reporting quotes from the Colombian superstar which reveal he would love to move to Arsenal.

Express quoted Martínez on his future and he didn’t shy away from rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal.

The 27-year-old said:

“I know that there have been discussions, but still not agreements. My agent is taking care of my future.

“Right now I’m at the World Cup and only after the World Cup I’ll evaluate proposals. As a child I cheered for Arsenal, they play a game that suits me.

“If I had the occasion to play there, I would say yes.”

Buy-out clause…

The publication also reveal that Martínez has a buy-out clause of £35 million and that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger may be willing to meet that.

The Daily Star back up claims from the Express, while they also provided an update on recent speculation linking us with a move for Lorenzo Insigne.

No move for Insigne, yet

The Napoli ace has been linked with us with summer, however the Italians agent, Fabio Andreotti, has confirmed there has been no contact from the Gunners.

Daily Mirror reported quotes from Andreotti, he said:

“We have not been contacted by Arsenal for Lorenzo Insigne and Napoli has not notified us of this interest.”

So whilst Insigne seems far from certain to come to the Emirates, the noises from Martínez are positive and he could be an excellent signing should Arsenal meet his buy-out clause.
