Arsenal are seemingly on the verge of completing the signing of two players that featured heavily in the 2014 World Cup.
As we revealed earlier today, France full back Mathieu Debuchy is close to joining the club after completing a medical last night.
Frenchman coming for £12 million
The Newcastle ace would move to the Emirates for around £12 million and would be the Gunners first choice right-back.
The deal would see Carl Jenkinson potentially move in the other direction on a season long loan and this transfer should certainly be completed this week.
Meanwhile the latest developments surrounding Alexis Sanchez appear extremely positive and it seems just a matter of time before he is unveiled at the Emirates.
Sanchez only has eyes for Arsenal
Marca believe Sanchez wants to move to the Premier League with Arsenal and will choose Arsene Wenger’s team over anybody else.
Also, interestingly, they report that Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich has arrived in Europe and it has been noted that he has started following the official Arsenal twitter feed recently as well as various Gunners players.
One of the clubs linked with the Chile forward was Italian giants Juventus, however Tuttosport have backed up claims by Marca that insist the Barcelona attacker is moving to London.
Juventus and Milan shafted in late deal
Tuttosport report Juventus have pulled out of the race to sign the Chilean because they can’t compete financially with Arsenal.
Meanwhile the Metro state that Sanchez is flying to London after rejecting proposals from the aforementioned, Juventus, and fellow Italians AC Milan.
A £32 million deal has been agreed between Arsenal and Barcelona and despite late interest from Milan and Juventus, no deal with the Serie A duo could be arranged.
Sanchez is set to earn more than his current deal at Barcelona, which is £75,000-a-week wages and can expect to be an Arsenal player shortly once personal terms are finalised over the next few days.
When these transfer are confirmed, the work Wenger has achieved so early in the transfer market can be lauded. It seems Le Professor has finally learn from his mistakes.
