The latest reports coming out of Spain regarding the future of Sami Khedira suggest the Real Madrid midfielder has made a massive u-turn and wants to stay with his current club.

It has been widely reported that Arsenal are in talks with the German after they agreed a fee with Madrid, said to be €25 million.

The sticking point between Arsenal and Khedira was the wage demands being made by the defensive midfielder, however the Gunners were allegedly confident they could resolve the issue.

Khedira not talking to Arsenal?

But, it was confirmed today by the agent of the German midfielder that his client isn’t in fact holding talks with any Premier League club – not Arsenal or Chelsea, who were also linked.

Khedira’s agent Jorg Neubauer told the Daily Telegraph that he hasn’t been in talks with Arsenal over a transfer.

“We are not in talks with Arsenal,” Neubauer stated.

“I don’t think a fee can have been agreed, otherwise I would have been told.

“When a club have an interest I am sure they will call me and we will speak about things. The same goes for Chelsea.”

Neubauer went on to state that Khedira is in talks with Madrid over a new contract, with his current deal running out next year.

He added: “We are talking to Real Madrid about his contract, but nothing is close to being decided.

“Sami has just returned from the World Cup and has gone on holiday.”

The comments from Khedira’s agent are quite extraordinary considering every major outlet across Europe had reported the German World Cup winner was in discussion with the Gunners.

U-turn for German…

However that doesn’t appear to be the case after all and there has been more shocking revelations regarding the Real Madrid ace in a Spanish newspaper today.

El Confidencial are the closest media outlet to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and they are famed for getting information on Los Blancos correct.

They believe that Khedira has changed his mind on leaving the Champions League winners and now wants to continue his career in Madrid.

The German apparently turned down a new contract in October but he is now prepared to apologise in a statement and ask if he can remain with the club.

El Confidencial aren’t sure if Madrid are willing to accept Khedira’s apology though and it seems the proposed transfer of Khedira to Arsenal is anything but straight forward.

Gunners fans were getting excited about the prospect of the World Cup winner moving to the Emirates but it now seems anything could occur regarding his future.
