According to reports in the Italian media, Arsenal offered €1M to loan Peruzzi or €5M to buy the player from Catania but the Italian club demanded €10M.
Arsenal's offer for Gino Peruzzi deemed inadequate after first round of talks on Tuesday.
Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in Peruzzi though, and they face competition from several Italian clubs.
Italian clubs circling
Fiorentina and Sampdoria are keen on the Catania man and the Italian club are open to allowing their asset to remain in Italy.
The Argentine is adapt at playing on the right and left and has been labeled as a star of the future.
And although Arsenal and Catania are yet to come to an agreement, it is hoped that a deal for Peruzzi can be struck and that this deal won’t hit another stag like the move for Javier Manquillo did.
Manquillo was expected to join the club but Liverpool hijacked the deal late on and are now set to announce his signing shortly.
Wenger will hope that any deal for Peruzzi can be arranged soon and the finishing touches to his squad can be concluded before the Premier League campaign kicks off.
