There was an unlikely hero as Arsenal thrashed Benfica Lisbon in their first game of the Emirates Cup in London.
On the day that marquee summer signing Alexis Sanchez - who cost the Gunners over £30million from Barcelona this summer - made his debut in the red strip, it was Yaya Sanogo who took the headlines as he hit 4 goals on home turf.
Sanogo joined last summer on a free from French side Auxerre but made just 14 appearances in his debut season, and failing to produce a goal.
However he hit a 30 minute first half hat-trick to blow Gunners fans and neutrals away, before rounding off with a 4th just after half time. Returning loanee Joel Campbell was also amongst the scoring.
Sanchez entered the action around 75 minutes in, to a rapturous applause, but that’s not what everyone was talking about…
@ugflair “Who needs Suarez when we have Sanogo , Campbell and Alexis.”
@flexpatriate “Who is this man and what did he do with Yaya Sanogo because holy hell”
@HarlianDeLaSosa “Yaya Sanogo is the new Didier Drogba”
@azizmola “Sanogo!! Giroud is sh*tting himself #AFC”
@g10_benga “Lol..Welcome to The Campbell Sanogo show”
@TLungley “Can't believe Sanogo scored 4 in that game. Did not see that coming at all.”
@_arsenal__news “Sanogo scored more goals today than England managed at the World Cup 2014”
@Gooners_1886 “"Once Yaya Sanogo starts scoring goals, he won't stop" - Arsene Wenger”
@TouchlineOracle “Don't banter me off... You don't finish work at 6pm on a Saturday to hear Sanogo scored a 4 goals. Fantastic.”
@HitenPatel13 “If Sanogo's banging in goals, you've got to be terrified of the supply behind him.”
@funnyguynikszo “Remember when Ramsey started hot last pre-season and we thought it was a joke. Sanogo, welcome sir.”
