Arsenal kick off the new season against manager-less Crystal Palace at 17:30 this Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

This summer has seen Arsenal get their business done early and on Saturday The Emirates faithful will be rewarded with 3 new signings certain to start.

Debuchy is a like for like replacement for Sagna and has so far fitted in seamlessly in the right hand side of defence.

Alongside him Calum Chambers will be trusted to deputise for Per Mertesacker. An outstanding display at Wembley last weekend has left Arsenal fans raving over the 19 year old and hopeful that he can follow in the footsteps of Arsenals other Southampton recruits Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.

Theo is now back to full training but isn’t expected to play until the end of August at the earliest. Oxlade-Chamberlain has recovered from his own World Cup nightmare and will be competing with Alexis Sanchez and Joel Campbell for a place on the flanks.

The Ox may well be the fitter of the three having come home a lot earlier than the Latin Americans who both had wonderful tournaments.

Laurent Koscielny is a due to undergo a late fitness test on his Achilles. Should he fail then Monreal will be asked to play the unfamiliar role of centre half.

If the Community Shield was anything to go by, Alexis will get the nod on the left hand side with Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsey supporting the lone striker and new club Captain Arteta doing the dirty work in the holding role.

There are question marks over Arteta’s ability to perform this task and the speculation that Arsenal will sign another defensive midfielder won’t go away. Arteta is 32 now and isn’t as dynamic as he once was, but for the time being his position and role in the club is secure.

Another position that is seemingly sewn up is the one of centre forward. Despite scoring 4 goals against Benfica and starting last weekend against Manchester City, Sanogo will surely pass the baton back to last season’s top scorer, Olivier Giroud.

Giroud has had less time on the training field as Sanogo but his awesome strike against City showed the class that he possesses. Dislodging him from the team will take something special.

Speculation that Cavani is a target for boss Wenger may act as added encouragement to the big French striker, as it did last year when Arsenal placed a bid for Suarez.

Arsenals three World Cup winning heroes have only been back in training since Monday and Wenger has said that they won’t be available for selection until next weekend’s fixture against Everton at the earliest.

A testing Champions league qualifier against Besiktas in Turkey on Tuesday may mean that some of the youngsters get a run out against Palace with Bellerin, Akpom and Zelalem impressing pre-season.
