Guillem Balague believes German midfielder Sami Khedira has a “personal agreement” with Arsenal over a transfer.
The La Liga specialist revealed the news on his twitter account when discussing whether Chelsea could sign the World Cup winner.
Linked with both Chelsea and Arsenal
The Real Madrid ace is looking to leave Spain and has been linked with Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea since the start of the summer.
Balague said on Twitter that José Mourinho is reluctant to enter talks with Khedira because of his agreement with Arsenal.
The Sky pundit said:
“Khedira: Mourinho reluctant to enter an auction cause he thinks payer has a personal deal with Arsenal.
“His agent denies it. Real Madrid want him to go.”
Arsenal also received another boost today when Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti admitted a deal for Khedira to leave Spain could be possible.
‘We’ll see what happens’
Ancelotti did insist that the German hasn’t put in a transfer request, like fellow midfielder Angel di Maria has.
Metro quoted the former Chelsea manager, he said:
“Khedira’s situation is different than Di Maria’s situation.
“He has just one more year to go on his current contract and he has only recently come back from a serious injury.
“We will see what happens, but he has not requested a transfer.”
It is believed that an injury sustained to Mikel Arteta has seen Arsene Wenger step up his interest in signing the German midfielder and the latest noises from Spain are positive regarding the move.
With little time to go until the transfer window ends, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal can come to an agreement with Real Madrid and make Khedira the fourth full German international at the Emirates.
