Last week Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski was linked with a move away from the Emirates and reports today have confirmed the German is up for sale.
The 29-year-old attacker has been linked with Turkish side Galatasaray, and the Istanbul based club have made an approach for the striker.
Double swoop for Podolski and Campbell?
Galatasaray also made an approach for Costa Rican Joel Campbell, as well as Podolski, but the Gunners are only interested in selling the German, as Arsene Wenger was impressed with Campbell during the World Cup.
The Turkish outfit were willing to offer Arsenal £22 million for the duo but only Podolski can leave the Emirates, The Sun report.
Daily Mirror back up the claims by the Sun and also add two other clubs to the transfer saga.
Italian sides linked
Italian giants AC Milan and Internazionale are interested in adding the German to their ranks but neither have made an approach like Galatasaray.
Podolski earns £100,000-a-week, the Mirror believe, and that could potentially be a sticking point in his departure from the club.
The agent of the attacker also admitted there is concrete interest from some clubs so it certainly seems like the German will depart the Emirates soon.
Concrete interest
Nassim Touihri was quoted by BILD, he said:
“There have always been inquiries. Now we have a concrete interest from a few clubs.”
Podolski has been a favourite amongst supporters since moving from Cologne and though his departure may sadden some, it is certainly for the right reasons – especially considering it will allow Campbell an opportunity.
The Costa Rican has been impressive during his several loans away from the club and played a major part in helping his country achieve success in the World Cup.
If Podolski moves on, as expected, then Campbell will get plenty of chances and considering the German is 29, it seems a move best for everyone involved.
