Arsene Wenger has seemingly shown the green light on Radamel Falcao’s move to Arsenal by failing to rule out that the Colombian striker will join on loan for the season.
AS Monaco have made Falcao available after it became clear that the former Porto and Atletico Madrid man wanted out of the moneybags Ligue 1 side, although Real Madrid were odds on to snatch his ahead of the competition.
However, Madrid have since agreed a new contract with main striker Karim Benzema signing on a 5 year deal, and the Spanish media are now claiming that they are completely out of the race for Falcao.
That leaves Arsenal as the sole suitors for the wantaway, and as we reported yesterday, our officials are due to meet up with Monaco representatives later on this week.

Wenger was typically secretive over the deal, but refused to categorically reject the rumours as aflse.
‘It is very difficult. All negotiations have to be discussed secretly,’ he said.
‘If something happens, you will of course be informed.’
Italian journalist Nico Schira claimed yesterday that negotiations would take place in Monte Carlo over a potential loan deal that would cost £20million on a temporary contract – a risky strategy considering Falcao missed the World Cup through injury.
Yet there is no arguing with Falcao’s two goals per 3 games ratio over the last 9 years, and having the world’s most prolific goalscorer leading your line is a positive even if it only for a single season.
At the moment Wenger has not ruled the deal out, and the two-horse race for Falcao is now run solely by Arsenal.
