The message after the 1-1 draw with Leicester City is that Arsenal are very active in the transfer market. Wenger was quizzed by Sky Sports and this was Wenger had to say;

“The decision [to add players] isn’t difficult to make. It’s finding the personnel that’s the problem. We are open and we work on it, but let’s not fool ourselves that every time the solution to not winning a game is buying a new player.”

“I don’t want to speak about individual cases, we are very active.”

However, Wenger was quick to point out that even a team such as Manchester City with strikers can still lose games.

Wenger also gave his thought on the game and performance;

“It was a tough, tough game. I think we were a bit unlucky because of the injury to Koscielny. I think maybe he would have got the ball. After that the draw was a fair result, we didn’t create enough today and they fought very hard.”

“Yes, but clear cut chances no. We missed a few opportunities, but I felt we lacked creativity and sharpness. We’ve had two tough weeks with three away games at Besiktas, Everton and today and Wednesday the Champions League was very demanding. It’s not an excuse but we were a bit jaded.”

A big 24 hours is ahead  which could well define Arsenal’s season. A centre back is needed as well as a defensive midfielder and a striker but to sign all 3 would be unlikely. Offer the money for Carvalho and focus on a striker.

I would love Falcao but that would take some incredible work just like the Ӧzil deal however, the most recent name to be linked with is Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca who scored 21 goals last years.
