Arsenal are exploring the opportunity to sign one of Ron Vlaar and Matija Nastasic.
Ron Vlaar has been subject of plenty of speculation this summer with clubs Southampton and Manchester United linked.
Vlaar was a standout in the Holland team at this year’s World cup. It is believed any deal will cost Arsenal £12 million however; the main problem with any deal will be convincing Vlaar to come.
The main reason for this being is that Vlaar maybe fourth choice and not play a lot of football.
However, an alternative to Vlaar is Manchester City’s Nastasic.
Nastasic is currently down the pecking order at Manchester City and maybe open to a move to Arsenal. Nastasic would be a good deal as a left sided centre back and is used to play back up however, again the main problem with the deal is that Manchester City may not want to sell to a direct rival.
A centre back is definitely needed to replace Vermaelen, which has only left Arsenal with 3 senior centre back. Nastasic has been at city for a couple of years and would provide cover.
