After the lifeless 2-0 loss against Chelsea last time out, Arsenal will be looking to get their league campaign back on track against Hull City.

Back to the future

The 3 o’clock kick-off at the Emirates is a repeat of last season’s FA Cup Final, in which the Gunners ran out 3-2 winners.

Arsène Wenger believes that, “When you look at their team sheet now, it looks like they can beat anybody,” therefore the side will be prepared for another challenge.

Injury Woes Galore

The international break provided more woe for the Gunners team-sheet, with a further three injuries hampering the squad’s preparations for the game.

Laurent Koscielny has been diagnosed with an Achilles problem, with no exact time frame given on his return.

Mesut Özil is also out of the game and is expected to be on the sidelines until the New Year with his knee ligament issue.

The good news is that Theo Walcott, Serge Gnabry, Yaya Sanogo and Aaron Ramsey are almost back in contention for the first-team, whilst Mikel Arteta finally returns to captain the side.

Boys are back in town

After Mourinho’s league leaders ripped Arsenal’s defense to shreds again, Wenger still feels that the side were unlucky to not get something out of the game.

“We had a disappointing result just before the international break, so we came out of the game frustrated because we felt that we played well enough to get a positive result.”

There is still reason to be cheerful, as the re-emergence of Jack Wilshere on international duty has given the club a much needed form boost.

The Frenchman told the press that, “He’s back to where he was physically and he has more experience today. His final ball is better and he has kept his penetrative capacity with the ball.”

“He has a good mix between threading the ball behind the defence and making the difference individually. That is Jack back to his best level.”

Starting Over

With a home fixture in favour of the Gunners, the club should win comprehensively. However, it is best to never get too complacent and the defense will need to be fully focused to get all three points.
