Arsenal attacking midfielder Theo Walcott is all set to train along with the Gunners by next week. The midfielder who plays from the right wing has had a series of injuries after a promising start to his career.

He looks to avoid a second operation in two seasons after picking up a groin injury while training with the English national side last month.

Walcott has made only two substitute appearances in the last year injuring his knee against Tottenham in their 2-0 win against their local rivals last season in the FA Cup. He was not able to add strength to his national side in Brazil as well, owing to his knee injury.

The club medical team at Arsenal have been looking after his injury for quite sometime now and he has been under intensive treatment to cure the groin injury over the last two weeks.

Wenger said:

Walcott is still struggling with his groin inflammation. I think he has an injection today to take care of that. Hopefully he can be available again after that. Galatasaray will be too early for him.

Arsenal hope to avoid more surgery for Walcott and this could be the option to clear up the latest injury worry if there has been no improvement when he is reassessed early next week.

Preferably he might return to the first team action for the Londoners during the festive period matches against Queens Park Rangers and West Ham. Arsenal need men as they now have to play Champions League, the Premier League and look forward to defend the FA Cup.

The club wants the pace of Walcott up front as his counters have always been a threat to the opposition. He reads the game well and with sitting little deeper will allow Alexis and Walcott to make crosses to Giroud or drive the ball into the final third.

Arsenal are already short of Özil, Arteta and Wilshere apart from Walcott in the midfield part and the arrival of Theo would give a new versatility to the side. Chamberlain has played brilliantly and so has Cazorla.

Having Walcott would give Arsene a chance to make squad rotate with a good bench strength as well with Özil and Jack Wilshere expected to return in a couple of months time. done as well. It has been really long since Walcott had featured regularly and the Gooners wish to see him on the pitch tearing apart the defences very soon.
