Liverpool and Arsenal's target Winston Reid of West Ham might seem to bid goodbye to his current club West Ham following his demand for pay rise, according to John Cross.

The defender who has been rock solid at the back for Sam Allardyce's men is out of contract in the summer. But he wants a huge pay-day to stay which might lead to his transfer to sides which are short on the defensive half like Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Mirror reports that the Hammers' defender's ask is way too much for a club like West Ham to sustain. West Ham are monetarily not that sound to give him what he wants and thus his days in Upton Park are numbered. The defender wants £60,000 a week and a £1million signing-on fee which is quite high given West Ham's stature.

The New Zealand international has been quite instrumental along this season and is certainly a big factor for a massive improvement in the performance at the back for the Hammers.

But teams such as Arsenal and Liverpool need good players at the back given their lack in that region both in numbers and quality so a January buy might be very well on the cards for Arsenal and Liverpool.

West Ham are placed fourth at the moment in the Premier League and have just conceded 18 goals so far this season. A loss like that of Reid might lead to a big downfall for West Ham. But if they fail to satisfy to keep him, Arsenal and Liverpool are all set to grab him in.
