It is safe to say Arsenal supporters went a bit crazy early this morning when quotes from manager Arsene Wenger were released.
The Gunners boss had his usual press conference earlier today and was asked about whether he would look to buy next month when the transfer window opens.
Wenger’s response suggested he wouldn’t sign anybody if everybody in his team was fit.
No need to buy?
He said:
“If everybody is fit then we don’t need to go into the transfer market.”
That comment flew social network twitter into chaos with fans outraged that the Arsenal boss hasn’t signaled his intent to sign anybody.
However, could this be a clever ploy by the Emirates manager to suggest he will actually be buying in January.
Massive injury list
Gunners currently have 13 players out injured, so it will certainly be a while before Wenger has a fully fit squad to choose from.
Is his admission that he doesn’t need to buy anyone if everyone is fit, a sly comment to suggest that the amount of injuries his team current has means he will be signing somebody next month?
In addition to this, it has been confirmed by Wenger that star midfielder Aaron Ramsey will be out until the New Year.
Minimum three weeks out
The Welsh midfielder scored a stunning goal against Galatasaray this week, but also suffered a hamstring injury, which will rule him out of the next three weeks of action.
Ramsey’s injury adds to Wenger’s problems and means he will sure dip into the transfer market next month.
Even if Ramsey comes back, Jack Wilshire is set for a long spell on the sidelines so the Gunners will almost certainly recruit in January.
